At a median of A$43/m², you are paying for the postcode clout rather than actual internal space. West End has officially hit BOUGIE status, largely because new developments have squeezed out the last of the affordable sharehouses. If you are not walking to work in South Bank or the CBD, that A$54/m² upper limit is basically a gentrification tax.
The Vibe:It is a dense grid of aging workers' cottages and shiny mid-rises where the smell of roasting beans is baked into the Boundary Street asphalt. You will spend half your life dodging the Blue CityGlider or circling for a park that does not exist near Davies Park. The crowd is a messy collision of old-school Greek heritage and tech-sector tenants who think they are still edgy while paying top-tier prices.
